Fathers and Father-figures are active, engaged, nurturers, protectors, providers, and vital components contributing to the wellbeing of their children, families, and communities. Too often our social and family support systems and programs are not prepared nor properly equipped to support fathers with fulfilling their roles and being the dad that they want to be. In many cases, our systems and programs perpetuate negative myths, and stereotypes and create barriers to fathers being fully engaged in the lives of their children and in the services that they provide
